A Grateful August Recap
August as a adjective means inspiring awe and reverence; imposing and magnificent.
We started Grateful Giraffes with a pretty simple question.
How can we make the world a more grateful place?
Since asking that question we’ve hosted virtual gratitude experiences for more than 600 people on Zoom and Discord, brought Janice Kaplan and Chris Schembra, two of the leading gratitude experts in the world on as strategic advisors, built Gratitude Walls in Tel Aviv, Tulum, and NYC, produced Evenings of Gratitude in LA & Austin, drove The Grateful Bus across 18 states in 6 weeks, created gratitude T-shirts at web 3.0 conferences in Denver, Miami, LA, Austin, Tulum, West Palm Beach, NYC, Barcelona, and Lisbon, interviewed hundreds of people in the street asking them what they’re grateful for, launched our first 7-day gratitude challenge, created our signature digital art collection / premium membership passes of 7,777 Grateful Giraffes, and produced our first-ever “Giraffes on the Roof” in Tel Aviv on August 25th.
We’ve done this without any venture funding, purely from the support of the Grateful Giraffes community and our founders, Max Marine and Adar Weinreb who have invested their life savings, blood, sweat, and tears into making this dream come true.
We’d like to take a moment to thank those of you who came out for the party in Tel Aviv. It was truly an unforgettable experience. Naturally we were a bit nervous, since the last week of August is a week of travel for most, and 7-11pm on a Thursday is a super competitive time to produce a ticketed event. But even with those constraints we had an amazing turnout and most people stayed past 11pm!
There was something magical in the air. Maybe it was the gratitude wall. Maybe it was the live painting of a Grateful Giraffe. Maybe it was the freshly made dumplings and homemade cacao, iced tea, sangria, and Giraffe cocktails (yes that’s a thing). Maybe it was the acro-yoga, the chill zone, or the marketplace of jewelry, clothing, essential oils, and sustainable products. Maybe it was the Giraffle.
It's hard to pinpoint the exact reason, but we can say with confidence that we’re on to something. The world needs more intentional parties where people feel open to connecting and meeting new people. And when you produce a party with the intention of gratitude, it creates a certain vibe that allows people to feel safe opening up. Part of our mission at Grateful Giraffes is to create these spaces and we’re excited this bring concept around the world in the coming years as part of our broader vision.
Now – what do we have planned for September?!!
First, we’ll be at Camp Decentral and Camp Contact at Burning Man the first week of September. We have The Grateful Bus there and will be producing some IRL gratitude experiences throughout the week, inviting conscious leaders from around the world to join our movement.
Second, on September 18th we’re hosting a virtual NFT-holder experience with Janice Kaplan, author of NYT bestseller, The Gratitude Diaries, to learn about the power of Gratitude in Relationships. We invite you to bring a +1. If you have at least one Grateful Giraffe in your wallet, you can register for this special 90 minute experience with the global GG community. If you don’t yet have a Grateful Giraffe, apply for membership and we’ll get back to you early next week with next steps!
Third, we’re looking forward to the final two Epochs leading up to September 21st, World Gratitude Day, when all the minted Grateful Giraffes will reveal themselves! We can’t wait to see what the Giraffes look like and to see the trading begin. Epoch 10, A Race to the Top, brings us one step closer to the Grateful Giraffe Reveal!
Last and certainly not least, we’re going to be in LA for the next 6 weeks (at least) and will be announcing several IRL experiences for Giraffe holders so stay tuned!
